This week was all about landing page optimization and basic SEO, and both of them made me look at my own site like a stranger would. That is harder than it sounds. When you build something you already know where everything is and what every button does, so you assume everyone else does too.
The landing page reading pushed me to check if my homepage actually delivers on what my ad promises. I looked at the Running Warehouse example and their ad said free shipping but the page hid a $50 minimum. Little gaps like that lose people. Then the SEO side hit me even harder. I pulled up my own pages and every single one had the same title tag and meta description, so Google had almost nothing unique to rank.
